The long awaited Women's Observatory Class was cancelled last November due to weather. This year, the observatory trainers will try popup observatory training. Here’s how it works:
- The observatory has been tentatively reserved for Mar 16, Mar 23 and Apr 13. These are non-prime Saturdays.
- The week before one of the dates above, I’ll announce the possibility of holding class. The announcement will come via the website, AstroList, and the HAS Facebook group.
- During this time, I’ll be watching the weather. The Go/NoGo announcement that class will definitely be held may come as late as the Friday before the Saturday class.
- Once I’ve announced class is a Go, email your RSVP to Observatory Director Chris Ober at chriso@astronomyhouston.org. He'll check your prerequisites and add you to the class. It’s first come, first serve to the first six women students.
All prerequisites are on the website, but in particular, make sure you've taken this year's Dark Site Orientation or you’ll miss out.
